Statute of the Capital City of Warsaw

Statute of the Capital City - also called "the Constitution of Warsaw" - the most important resolution of the Capital City of Warsaw, specifying the provisions of local self-government law and the Warsaw system. The statute for its validity needs approval (in the law referred to as the "agreement") by the President of the Council of Ministers.

The statute was passed on January 10, 2008, after several months of work by the statutory commission headed by Lech Jaworski.

The statute provides for a significant decentralization of Warsaw in the sense of one city, but based on 18 self-governing districts.
