Edward Szymański (engineer)


Edward Szymański (born March 17, 1862 in Warsaw, died July 9, 1907 in Warsaw), Polish water and sewer engineer, author of articles in "Technical Review".

He was Edward's son. In 1888 he received a diploma from the Faculty of Engineering at the Technical University of Riga and a year later he started working in the Warsaw water supply and sewage system. He participated in construction, and from 1897 he was a senior engineer of the pump station at Czerniakowska Street. In 1905 he was promoted to Deputy Chief Engineer; The role was played by William Lindley at the time.

Published in the "Technical Review" many articles, including The influence of canals on the reduction of groundwater (1896), Construction of the second water dragon in Warsaw (1896), Damage of canal gas and protection of housing (1897), Vistula estuary regulation (1897). He also wrote in the manuscript about the construction of the 3rd water dragon in Warsaw.

In July 1907, engineer Szymański was buried in the Powązkowski cemetery. Bibliography
