José Torres Cadena


José Joaquin Torres Cadena (born July 15, 1952) is a former Colombian football referee.

He led four matches during the 1994 World Cup finals, including a quarter-final between Bulgaria and Germany (2: 1) and the Brazilian semi-final (1-0). In a semi-final match, at 0: 0, he showed a red card to Swedish captain Jonas Thern for a brutal foul on Dunda.

The remaining two matches judged by Torres were played in group stage; Belgium - Morocco (1: 0) and Ireland - Norway (0: 0). He was also an arbiter at the Barcelona Olympics, where he hosted the final match Spain - Poland (3: 2) and two group meetings Sweden - Morocco (4: 0) and Ghana - Mexico (1: 1). >
