Edward Szwajkiewicz
Edward Szwajkiewicz (born June 8, 1954 in Znamiensk) is a Polish trade unionist, opposition activist in the People's Republic of Poland. Curriculum vitae
He graduated in 1974 from the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering School in Białogard, then to 1989 he was employed at the. Lenin in Gdańsk as an electrician.
In 1980 he joined "Solidarity". After martial law, he participated in a day-long strike on the SG. Later he became involved in the activities of the underground structures of the union. In August 1988 he became vice-chairman of the Strike Committee, and also reorganized NSZZ "S" in the region. In 1989 he participated in the plenary sessions of the Round Table, as well as in the union pluralism team.
Until 2001 he was a member of the board of directors of the Gdansk Region NSZZ "S". full-time secretary of the board. In the years 1992-1996 he represented the union in the work of the Commission for Local Government at the Gdansk Voivodship Office. In 2001 he graduated with a bachelor's degree in management of public administration at the Gdansk Higher School of Humanities. Until 2006 he was employed by Euroluk Gdynia Shipyard Group and later became manager of the technical team at the Gdansk International Fair.
Awarded the Meritorious Merit of Culture (1999). August 28, 2008 awarded by President Lech Kaczyński the Officer's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta in connection with the 28th anniversary of the signing of the August Agreements. Bibliography
