James Stopford (7. hrabia Courtown)


James Richard Neville Stopford OBE (born 16 September 1877, January 25, 1957), British nobleman, James Stopford's oldest son, Count 6. Courtown, and Catherine Neville, daughter of Baron Braybrooke.

In the years 1900-1901 he fought during the Second War. He also fought during the First World War, where he was listed in the daily roster. From 1914 he was named Viscount Stopford. In 1927-1928 he was the mayor of Aylesbury. After his father's death in 1933 he inherited the title of Count Courtown and sat in the House of Lords. In the years 1941-1947 he was a staff captain in the ministry of war. He was Deputy Lord of the Wexford County Governor and Officer of the Order of the British Empire. April 26, 1905 Trinity Church in London married Cicely Mary Birch (1885 - 1973), daughter of John Birch and Charlotte Stopford, daughter of Major George Stopford. James and Cicely had three sons and four daughters together:

Lord Courtown died in 1957. All his titles were inherited by his eldest son.
