Monitor Control Command Set

Monitor Control Command Set (MCCS) - standard developed by VESA. Its purpose is to define a set of commands to control image parameters in the computer monitor (or LCD display in the integrated notebook). The MCCS standard allows you to set monitor parameters through any communication protocol established between the computer and the monitor. Monitor parameters that can be set using the MCCS standard include: brightness, contrast, image position, image distortion. Manufacturers of MCCS monitors often include monitor control applications such as Samsung's Magic Tune.

Graphics card drivers may also allow you to adjust monitor parameters, such as those used by Intel.

The MCCS communication of the monitor computer via the VGA connector is done on the DDC pins described in the VESA Display Data Channel. The connection works fine when connected to a DDC cable. The MCCS may not work when the monitor is connected via the KVM switch. When the monitor is connected via a cable without a DDC cable (eg an old VGA extension cable), the MCCS standard will not work.
