Shanghai Greenland Shenhua Football Club (Chinese: 上海 绿地 申花 足球 俱乐部; pinyin: Shànghǎi Lǜdì Shēnhuā Zúqiú Jùlèbù) is a Chinese football club currently playing in the Chinese Super League, located in the largest city in the country, Shanghai. > History
Shenhua was founded on December 10, 1993. Initially sponsored by a local company called Shenhua (Shenhua in Chinese means "Shanghai Flower"). At the end of 2001, Shenhua withdrew from the sponsorship of the band, and their place was joined by SVA and SMEG (Shanghai Media & Entertainment Group). The name was changed to Shanghai Shenhua SVA SMEG Football Club (SFC), but the club is still commonly referred to as "Shenhua".
Shenhua is Shanghai's most successful Shanghai Zobon and Inter Shanghai team. He won the Chinese championship twice, and six times became the vice-champion of the country. The biggest group of supporters is called "Blue Devil" or "Blue Devil".
In 2007, Zhu Jun, owner of Shanghai United F.C. He bought most of Shenhua's shares and merged with the two clubs. The club also moved to the new Yuanshen Sports Center in Pudong, which last season was Shanghai United. Shenhua is represented by 17 Chinese representatives, both A and U-23.
