Oskar Helbig


Oskar Helbig in June 1947 Oskar Georg Helbig (born 23 May 1911, date of death unknown) - Nazi criminal, member of the administration of the German concentration camp Mittelbau-Dora and SS-Oberscharführer.

A member of the Mittelbau-Dora crew (Nordhausen) from December 5, 1944 to April 6, 1945, where he served in the camp administration successively as: the head of the food warehouses for SS prisoners and crews, the accountant and an officer in the department of prisoners' clothing. Helbig bullied the prisoners, often beating them with a stick or a whip.

Oskar Helbig was tried after the war by the American Military Tribunal in Dachau in the Mittelbau-Dora crew (US vs. Kurt Andrae and others). For his crimes he was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment, then converted to 10 years imprisonment by the audit committee. Bibliography
