Palace of Genoa
The Palace of Genoa's Palazzo Ducale at Genoa's Piazza De Ferrari was the official residence of the Genoese reindeer throughout the duration of the Republic of Genoa. Ducal Palace.
In the years 1251-1275 the tower of Palazzo Fieschi was erected (now part of the Palazzo Ducale). In 1291, the Republic of Genoa purchased from the Doria family houses between Piazza San Matteo and San Lorenzo to build a palace of the Doge. In 1294 the Republic of Genoa purchased the palace of Leonardo Fieschi.
Around 1590: Andrea Ceresola presented the redevelopment projects of the renaissance residence. The palace was expanded in the 17th century. In 1777 the fire consumed the palace. Giuseppe Lomellini (1723-1803) had to escape. After the fire, the palace was rebuilt in classicist style.
In the years 1940-1945 the palace was damaged by bombing. Between 1990 and 1992 it was restored.
