Random error


Random error (random error) - a type of measurement error, not repeated by systematic, repetitive factors. It is impossible to predict its value in subsequent measurements. Information on the scale of this error can be obtained after performing a series of measurements and calculating the selected distribution variation measure, such as standard deviation.

Occurrence of random errors causes the results of subsequent measurements to change randomly, although the same magnitude is measured in virtually unchanging conditions. They can be modeled using statistical distributions, for example, the normal distribution (Gaussian). Bibliography
