Henryk Fojcik


Henryk Fojcik (born 1956 in Rybnik) is a Polish sculptor and scientist.

He graduated from Żory High School and 1979 - studies at the Faculty of Pedagogy and Art of the University of Silesia, where in 1993 he obtained a PhD degree in humanities in history. He is an educational worker and head of the Department of Fine Arts at the Institute of State Fine Arts in Racibórz. He is also the secretary of the National Intercollegiate Art Education Council in the field of Fine Arts. His research activities and publications concern mainly the history and theoretical foundations of artistic didactics.

The domain of his artistic activity is primarily sacred sculpture and inspiration - the symbolism of the biblical message and the attempt to express the phenomenon of the sacred. Fojcika's works are mainly in the sacred buildings of Rybnik and the Opole province. Among other things is the author of the monumental altar of sending apostles in the church of the rabbis in Rybnik. He participated in several group and individual exhibitions.

In his views on art, Fojcik is in favor of returning to the university roots of art colleges and restoring his scientific background. Publications Bibliography
