Michał Jachimczak


Ks. Michał Jachimczak CM (born 31 August 1908 in Slomirog, died 30 January 1941 in KL Dachau) - Polish Catholic priest, Servant of God of the Catholic Church.

In 1927 he joined the Congregation of the Missionaries of Saint Vincent de Paul. He was ordained priest in 1935 and undertook studies at the Jagiellonian University of Polonia, agreeing to study with the chaplain's duties. After the outbreak of World War II he was arrested by the Gestapo on July 15, 1940 and beaten in Montelupich. Then on 30 August he was sent to the German concentration camp in Auschwitz-Birkenau and then to Dachau on 12 December 1940. Weakened and seriously ill, he was murdered in a camp hospital. He is one of the 122 Servants of God, on which, on September 17, 2003, the beatification process of the second group of martyrs from the Second World War began. Internet sources
