The postcards
Trumpet on the mailbox of the Polish Post
One of the many innovations introduced by the Italian family represented by Franz von Taxis, the creator of the postal system in Europe. The courier station approached the mail station so that his replacement could prepare ahead for the shipment and get on the road faster. Today the trumpet is a symbol of post offices in many countries, also in Poland. In the Commonwealth of the Two Nations the post-trumpet was introduced by the first reforms of Stanisław August Poniatowski in 1764.
