Duan Xuefu


Duan Xuefu (Chinese: 段 学 复; July 29, 1914 in Huanxian, Shanxi Province - February 6, 2005) - Chinese mathematician.

He studied at the Faculty of Mathematics at Tsinghua University (graduated in 1936), doctorate at Princeton (1943). He worked as a professor at Tsinghua University and at the Peking University. In 1955 he became a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

In his research work he dealt with algebra - group theory and Lie algebra. He successfully resolved (with co-workers) two Brauer problems.
