Mustafa Moin
Dr Mustafa Moin Mustafa Moin (born April 1, 1951) is an Iranian politician and professor of pediatrics, former minister and candidate for presidential elections in 2005. Curriculum vitae Mustafa Moin was born in 1951 in the city of Najafabad. At the age of 18 he started medical studies at the University of Shiraz. In 1979 after the Islamic Revolution, he became Rector of the University of Shiraz. In 1982 he was elected to the Iranian Parliament (Majlis) as a representative of Shiraz.
In the office of President Rafsanjan he served as Minister of Culture and Higher Education (1989-1993). During the presidency of Mohammad Khatami he also held the post of Minister of Culture and Higher Education (1997-2000) and the Minister of Science, Research and Technology (2000-2003). He resigned in July 1999 after student demonstrations, protesting against police raids and members of ultra-religious militias at the University of Tehran. December 29, 2004 Moin decided to run for the presidential election in 2005 as a candidate for the Islamic Front of Iran. In the June 2005 election, he won 13.93% of the votes, taking 4th place. Mustafa Moin is one of the leading Iranian scientists in the field of pediatrics, immunology and allergology. He is currently the director of a research center at the medical school in Tehran.
