Israel Horovitz
Israel Horovitz (born March 31, 1939 in Wakefield) is an American dramatist and screenwriter.
One of the most famous playwrights in America has written more than 50 pieces, many of which have been translated and displayed in more than 30 languages of the world. Among his most famous pieces are Line, Park Your Car, The Harvard Yard, The Primary English Class, The Widow's Blind Date, and The Indian Wants the Bronx, which received the Best Art Award in both awards.
Horowitz is the artistic director of the Gloucester Stage Company in Gloucester and the New York Playwrights Lab, founded in 1975.
Five children: Rachael Horovitz - film producer, Matthew Horovitz - producer and director, Adam Horovitz - member of the Beastie Boys music group and twins Hannah and Oliver Horovitz.
