Rueilczycy
Rueilans - Infantry Division of the Foreign Legion composed of Polish volunteers.
Thanks to the efforts of the Polish Volunteers Committee for the Service in the French Army two volunteer subdivisions were organized. The first was the Bajones. The second company of about 250 volunteers was transferred to Rueil near Paris on 29 August 1914 and trained there. At the end of the training, soldiers were assigned to various subdivisions of the 3rd Foreign Regiment. In the spring of 1915, in the face of the mistrust of the French authorities, the Poles - the citizens of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy and the German Empire - were ransacked by the French, and the Rueil were withdrawn from the front and transferred to the rear of the Legionnaire in Lyon. After the intervention of Georges Clemenceau, the Rueil had been incorporated into the 2nd March Regiment and re-directed to the front. Bibliography
