The process of tablet formulation in a rotary tablet press Eccentric tablet machine Rotary tablet press
Tablet press - a device used to make tablets by compressing them from loose, dusty and granular materials. It is used in the pharmaceutical, chemical and food industries. There are two main types of tablets: eccentric and rotary. They differ in the mechanism that ensures the compression of the tablet with adequate force.
The manufacture of tablets consists in the mechanical crushing (pressing) of granules or pellets, consisting of an active substance mixed with the appropriate excipients. Pressing is done in a suitable tablet form. There are three stages in this process: filling the matrix with the tablet, pressing and pushing the tablet out of the die opening.
The main components of the tablet are: Stanisław Janicki, Adolf Fiebig, Małgorzata Sznitowska, Teresa Achmatowicz: Applied Pharmacy: a textbook for pharmacy students. Warsaw: Wydawnictwo Lekarskie PZWL, 2003. ISBN 83-200-2847-7.
