Foot mine

French soldiers set up a mine under the German positions, 1915

Mine walkway, miners' pavement - an underground walkway (corridor, tunnel) executed by the besiegers towards the fortification of the enemy to destroy the besieged fortifications. Destruction was done by detonating explosives in the mine chamber or by firing a wooden structure (temporarily supporting the fortification from the bottom) and causing the earth to infiltrate.

The defenders for the miners' pavilions made the sidewalks.
