Paul Young (1947–2000)


Paul Young (born June 18, 1947 in Manchester, England) was a British singer and drummer with The Toggery Five, Gyro, Mandalaband, Sad Café, and Mike & the Mechanics.

Wraz z zespołem Mike & the Mechanics nagrał 6 albumów: Mike & the Mechanics (1985), The Living Years (1988), Word of Mouth (1991), Beggar on a Beach of Gold (1995), Hits (1996) oraz M6 (1999).

Career

Young's breakthrough year was 1985. After leaving Sad Café, he was invited to collaborate on a musical project by Mika Rutherford of Genesis. After a successful debut single "All I Need is a Miracle" (with vocalist Paul Young) and "Silent Running", Mike & the Mechanics have started their careers. Paul Young also sang hits such as "Word of Mouth", "Nobody's Perfect", "Mea Culpa" and "Beggar on a Beach of Gold".

Paul Young died of a heart attack in 2000.
