Ryszard Szaro


Ryszard Julian Szaro, known in the USA as Rich Szaro (born March 7, 1948 in Rzeszow, April 7, 2015 in Warsaw) is a Polish footballer from the NFL. He was a placekicker in the New Orleans Saints and the New York Jets. A graduate of Harvard University and a high school Francis Prep in Brooklyn, New York. Career

In the 1973 season he played in the amateur Atlantic Coast Football League. In 1974, following the dissolution of the ACFL, he joined Philadelphia Bell in the World Football League. In 1975, at age 27, he started his NFL career at the New Orleans Saints. In the team of New Orleans, he played 43 games with 37 field goals and 82 extra points. In 1979 he played one game for the New York Jets.
