Voting - a painting often found in Christian art showing the founder of a temple (either himself or a family) offering it through the saints (church patron or patron) or Mary Christ. The inherent attribute of these shows is the representation (model) of the temple in the hands of the founder. Especially popular in Byzantine art.

This concept is also used in a broader context - to designate all images submitted as a votive offering - begging or giving thanks (see: votive gift).
