Arlena - a feminine name whose origin is uncertain. Perhaps it derives from Arlene, which means in Irish "warranty, commitment". The name may also be a shortened form of female names ending in -arlen, eg Marlena. There is also a hypothesis that this name was to be a variant of Arline, a name probably invented by the little-known Irish composer Michael William Balfe for the main heroine of his best-known opera "The Bohemian Girl."

In 2001, they had the name of 244 Poles (in addition several in the form of Arlene). For the first time this name was given in Poland in the 1940s.
