Mieczyslaw Tarnowski


Mieczysław Tarnowski (born December 25, 1945 in Mönchengladbach, died May 11, 1991 in Wałbrzych) - Polish trade union activist, senator of the first term, miner. Curriculum vitae

He graduated from the Mining Technology School in Wałbrzych, then worked as a shaft miner at the "Wałbrzych" Coal Mine. Until 1981 he belonged to the PZPR. In September 1980 he joined Solidarity. Martial law found him at the time of the delegation's departure to Switzerland. He returned to Poland on February 1, 1983, repeatedly repressed by the SB for many years without a job. In 1986 he became a pensioner. In 1989 he was elected senator for the first term of office of the Civic Committee. He died during the mandate. Bibliography
