Achtel - a former unit of volume measure, less frequent, usually 1/8 of a larger measure.

In Poland, in the 16th and 17th centuries, it was used as a measure of the volume of beer. Krakow was 1/2 barrel and contained 62 gallons, which corresponded to about 134-140 liters.

In 1565, a new achtel was introduced, which corresponded to 72 gallons (about 155-163 liters), and at the same time meant 1/8 barrels, or 1/2 angled, otherwise called angled, measuring 9 gallons (approx. ).

Achtel Lviv in the seventeenth century contained 36 pots.

In the Prussian partition achtel for liquids was 1/60 oxide (3.745 l)

In the Austrian partition, achtel was used as a mining measure of length and corresponded to 0.2615 m, and as a measure of the volume of solid bodies was 7.6875 l. Bibliography
