Reiner Klimke


Reiner Klimke (born January 14, 1936 in Münster, died 17 August 1999) is a German sports rider, multiple Olympic medalist.

He was successful in dressage, although he also competed in the Versatile Horse Competition. At the Games he made his debut in 1960 (WKKW). Four years later he won his first gold medal. His biggest success was in 1984 in Los Angeles, when he won in both competitions. He was also twice the bronze medalist of the IO, and won five gold medals in the team. Six times he was the world champion, twice as individual (1974 and 1982).
