Austrian Young Physicists’ Tournament


Austrian Young Physicists 'Tournament (Austrian Junior Physicists' Tournament) - Physics competition for junior high school students. The purpose of AYPT is the elimination of the Austrian team (five people) representing Austria at the International Youth Physical Tournament. The tournament consists in developing solutions to problems and presenting them in the form of papers and public discussion on the presented solutions.

The official language of AYPT is English.

To participate in the AYPT tournament, the organizers invite teams from Poland, Slovakia, Russia, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Slovenia and Iran.

The games are divided into four rounds: three preliminary and one final. The AYPT organization is identical to the organization of an international tournament (IYPT).

Tournaments have been organized so far by AYPT - Forschungsforum Junger Physiker in Vienna and Leoben (Austria). Andrzej Nadolny, Secretary General of the IYPT International Tournament, wrote that "The Austrian Tournament is also a special example of international cooperation in the Central European region."
