Pigbag - a British punk band from the 80s.

The band included bassist Simon Underwood, guitarist James Johnstone, saxophonist Ollie Moore, chipper Chip Carpenter and Roger Freeman. The debut single, "Papa's Got A Brand New Pigbag", was released in 1981, becoming the most popular song of the band. The title refers to James Brown's "Papa's Got A Brand New Bag". The first album was released a year later under the title Dr Heckle & amp; Mr Jive. In 1983, two more albums appeared: Lend An Ear and concert live Pigbag - Live after which the band broke up.

After the break up two compilations appeared, Best of Pigbag and BBC Sessions. Best of Pigbag featured a remake of "Papa's Got A Brand New Pigbag," which, like the original track, was high on the charts. discography Bibliography
