PILKOR started its activity in 1974 as Philips Electronics Korea. At that time, it was located in Philips owned by Philips Metallized Film Capacitor Manufacturing (MKT / MPP / PP + MMKP) and thin-film metallised resistor. In 1994, Philips retired from this venture and PILKOR was established on the site of the remaining factory. Currently PILKOR is the largest manufacturer of this type of products in Korea. The company's annual turnover in 2002 was $ 45-50 million. Among the largest customers of Pilkora are companies such as Philips TV, Samsung TV, LG TV, Sanyo TV, Toshiba TV, Osram, Delta, APC, TYCO, Philips Lighting, Schaffner, Panasonic, SMPS, SANKEN. With a market share of 12%, the company ranks among the top four capacitor manufacturers in the world. In addition to the capacitors, Pilkor also has a separate division producing MCI, WCI, ASM, BTM. The products offered by the company comply with the European Union ROHS directive, ie they are adapted for lead-free soldering.
