STSADM

Stsadm - an administrative console tool (Microsoft Office SharePoint Server and Sharepoint Services 3.0) for websites and servers. This tool offers a number of options not available through the Central Administration site. Details

The console application can be run only by users belonging to the Administrators group.

The application has its own versions for WSS 3.0 and MOSS 2007.

The application does not provide general help - you can not ask for available parameters. A list of parameters is available on the official STSADM website (Links section).

To view the properties of a given command, use the stsadm.exe -o ParameterName command. Calling stsadm.exe from the command line will display a list of available commands.

The application does not re-ask the parameter if this is invalid. You should re-enter the command.
