Synagoga Sefer Chaim w Buenos Aires

Sefer Chaim Synagogue in Buenos Aires (from the Hebrew Book of Life) is a synagogue located in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina. It is the first prison synagogue in Latin America.

The synagogue was founded in 2006 in Devoto Prison on the initiative of Daniel Goverchesky, a student of the rabbinical seminar serving prisoners. Earlier, Judaism practitioners met with rabbis in a Roman Catholic chapel. At the opening ceremony of the six prisoners, the Torah scrolls were sung in Hebrew.
