Julius Heinrich Friesen


Julius Heinrich, Count von Friesen (d. 1706) - Dutch diplomat.

In 1695, Wilhelm III Orański chose him as the deputy to the court of Vienna, and in 1702 he was transferred to the Prussian institution; to Berlin. Eventually, he did not take any of these outlets.

After 1702 he entered the service of the Emperor Leopold I Habsburg and became the Austrian governor of the fortress town of Landau an der Isar in 1703. He died in 1706 as Field Marshal of the Austrian Army. Bibliography
