Aerdrie Faenya
Elisabeth Görgl (born February 20, 1981 in Bruck an der Mur) is an Austrian alpine skier, two-time Olympic medalist and three-time World Cup medalist.
CareerElisabeth Görgl first appeared on 29 November 1996 in Hochgurgl, where she won the 24th place at the FIS Race in the slalom. In 1999, she took on the junior championship in Pra Loup, winning a bronze medal in the slalom. There were only Anji Pärson from Sweden and Stefan Wolf from Germany. In the following year's World Junior Championships in Québec, her best result was the eighth place won by the relegation.
In the World Cup competition she made her debut on March 10, 2000 in Sestriere, where she did not finish the slalom. The first points were won on December 12, 2002 in Val d'Isère, taking 13th place in the Giants. Less than a month later, on January 5, 2003 at Bormio, for the first time she was on the podium of this cycle, taking second place in the slalom. In these competitions she split Janice Kostelić and Anja Pärson on the podium. In successive years, she has won the top three with seven wins: January 12 in Maribor and March 15, 2008 in Bormio was the best in the world. On December 6, 2009 Lake Louise won the Super Bowl on January 7, 2012 in Bad Kleinkirchheim and on January 11, 2014 in Altenmarkt won the championship, and on January 23, 2014 in Cortina d'Ampezzo and on December 21, 2014 in Val d'Isère again was the best in the super-margins. The best results were achieved in the 2007/2008 and 2010/2011 seasons when she finished fourth overall. In season 2007/2008 she was second in the 2007/08 and 2009/2010 seasons and was ranked third in the Superstars classification. In the 2011/2012 season, she was third in the classification.
At the beginning of 2003 he was called up to the World Championships in Sankt Moritz, but did not finish his first run of the slalom and was not classified. In 2009 she won the bronze medal in the super-match at the Val d'Isère world championship, slipping behind her compatriot Kathrin Zettel and Lara Gut from Switzerland. At the same event, there was also a fourth in the congress, losing the podium fight by 0.36 seconds with Italian Nadia Fanchini. The most successful of the two world championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen two years later, where she won the supergen and the relegation. Görgl also ran after the supercombination downhill, but in the slalom she was only fifteen, and she finished fifth. In 2006 she took off at the Olympic Games in Turin, but did not finish the race. Four years later, the Vancouver Games started in all competitions, earning two medals. At first, it was the third time in a convention where only two US representatives were faster: Lindsey Vonn and Julia Mancuso. A few days later, she started in the Giant, where after the first drive she was on the lead, with a lead of 0.02 seconds over the French Baroque. In the second run, the Austrian made 15th, but that gave her a third time. Finally finished third, 0.14 second behind German Viktor Rebensburg and 0.10 second behind Tin Maze from Slovenia. She also took part in the Sochi Olympics in 2014, but did not make it to the top ten. The best result was in the Giants, who finished eleventh.
