Since 1994 he has been a councilor of Gdynia. During 1994-1998 he was the chairman of the Communist Party Committee, since 1998 he has been vice president responsible for spatial development, urban investment and communication. Founder and first president of the Gdynia Movement - a gathering of sympathizers of the city, which organizes, among other things, an annual knowledge competition on Gdynia, attended by pupils from all the schools in Gdynia.
