Synthetic polymers
Synthetic polymers are polymers which, unlike biopolymers, are not naturally occurring but are wholly obtained from low molecular weight compounds called monomers.

Synthetic polymers are the basic (although not the only) ingredient of many materials. These include: Artificial fibers such as, for example, Anilana, the main constituent of which is polyacrylonitrile or Nylon, whose main constituents are polyamides, paints, varnishes, laminates and other surface coatings, glues and other surfactants, membranes and other materials with distribution capabilities.
