Great treasurer of the Teutonic Order
The great treasurer of the Teutonic Order (German der Obersttressler) - he kept accounting and managed the treasure of the state. The state treasury was a state secret in the Teutonic Order, but the Maltese house commander had the insight of the treasury and the Malbork house commander had disposed of money for the needs of the grand master's court (service, mail, construction, etc.). There were three keys to the monastery treasury: one was the treasurer and the other two were the great master and the great commander. Bibliography
