Iena Bridge

Pont d'Iéna - a bridge connecting the two banks of the Seine in Paris, considered a historical monument of special value. Napoleon Bonaparte wore at the beginning of the 19th century with the intention of constructing a new bridge that would begin before the building of the Military School. In 1807 he officially decided to start work on it, and chose his current name for it despite the earlier designations of crossing the Bridge of the Field or the Military School from nearby facilities. The building lasted from 1808 to 1814. An arch bridge with a total length of 155 meters and five arches, richly decorated with bas reliefs with imperial eagle. Additional decorations were added during the great reconstruction of Paris, when four figures of warriors - Galilean, Roman, Arab and Greek - appeared at the corners of the bridge.

In 1937 the bridge was rebuilt, on the occasion of the World Exposition increased its width from about 14 to 35 meters. It serves both foot and wheel traffic.
