Desmond (Deas Mumhain) - a non-existent historical kingdom in Ireland. It was located in the southwestern part of the province of Munster.

Since 1329, the kingdom of Fitzgerald was ruled by the Normans, but was heavily polarized. In the sixteenth century, Fitzgerald's family opposed English expansion, leading the first and second Desmond revolts. With the fall of the Second Coming, the Fitzgerald has lost control of the kingdom.

In 1606, the kingdom of Desmond was divided between County Cork and Kerry.
