Kowalewa Pomorski Coat
Kowalewa Pomorski Coat Commander of the Kowalewska Commander from Grunwald
Kowalewa Pomorski's coat shows half a red fish in the white heraldic shield, above it a golden crescent between two six-armed stars, also golden.
At the time of Kowalew's involvement in the Teutonic Order, there were two emblems of Kowalewa: the city, and the emblem of the commandos. The city emblem contained the same elements as the present coat of arms, while the emblem of the commandos depicted two red fish in a pole, arched with heads and tails. The flag with the emblem of the Kovalevian cavalry captured the Polish knights during the Battle of Grunwald from the hands of the fallen commander of Nicolaus von Viltz and handed over to King Władysław Jagielle, who in turn handed it along with other commendable banners to the Wawel Cathedral.
