Wildervanck syndrome (cervico-oculo-acoustic syndrome) - a rare set of defects consisting of receptors and (most commonly) conductive hearing impairments, cervical abnormalities (Klippla-Feil anomaly), retarded nerve deformity ( Duane's syndrome) and the presence of ear and cervical fistulae. Rarely encountered abnormalities are cleft palate, dental defects, epilepsy, facial hypoplasia, skull and facial asymmetry, narrow palate, microgranulation, pre-eclampsia, mental retardation, iris variegation. It occurs almost exclusively in women. The team was described by the Dutch geneticist Lambertus Sophius Wildervanck in 1952.
