Richard Bocian
Ryszard Bocian (born July 18, 1939 in Skolem) is a Polish lawyer, teacher, lecturer, member of the Confederation of Independent Poland. Curriculum vitae
In 1956 he was the founder of the Revolutionary Youth League at Warsaw University of Technology. Between 1957 and 1958 he was the founder and leader of the anti-communist youth group in Cracow. He lectured at the Medical Academy in Cracow (1972-1981, 1990-1992). He belonged to the Polish United Workers' Party in 1964-1981. In December 1981 he organized a strike at the Medical Academy in Cracow. October 29, 1982 was interned. After being released, he was arrested and detained many times.
In the years 1990-1998 the councilor of Cracow. In the years 1999-2005 the city consumer ombudsman in Cracow. In 1999 he founded the Confederation of Confederation of Independent Poland from 1979-1989, which he was president until 2007.
In 2008, together with Krzysztof Bzdyle, he submitted to the Krakow branch of the Commission for the Prosecution of Crimes Against the Polish Nation the conclusions on communist crimes committed by Jerzy Stachowicz.
September 22, 2010 was awarded the Medal of Honor in the word, and on October 26, 2015 for outstanding contributions to the democratic transition in Poland and for achievements in the country of occupational and social work undertaken for the benefit of the country, he was awarded the Commander's Cross with the Order Star.
