Rose Zhao


Holy. Rose Zhao (Chinese: 趙 洛莎貞 女) (born in 1878 in Zhaojia, Hebei, China - July 1900) - Catholic holidays, martyrdom.

Rose Zhao was born in 1878 in Zhaojia, Hebei Province.

During the rise of the boxers, there was a persecution of Christians in China. On July 28, 1900, Rose Zhao tried with her mother Maria Zhao Guo and sister Marie to escape the pursuing group of boxers jumping to the well. They pulled them out of the well and tried to force them to renounce their faith. Because they did not agree, they were taken to the cemetery and cut there.

The day of her memory is 9 July (in the group of 120 Chinese martyrs).

She was beatified on 17 April 1955 by Pius XII in the group Leon Mangin and 55 Companions. Named in the group of 120 Chinese martyrs on October 1, 2000 by John Paul II. Bibliography
