Hong Hu


Hong Hu (Chinese: 洪 虎, born in June 1940 in Jinzhai County, Anhui Province) is a Chinese state activist.

He studied chemical engineering at the Peking Institute of Technology, graduating in 1963. After graduation he began his professional career in the industry. In 1965 he joined the Communist Party of China. He has held a number of leadership positions in the local and national industry while occupying important positions in the party hierarchy. From 1991 to 1998 he was deputy director of the State Committee for Restructuring the Economy. In 1992-2007 he was a member of the Central Committee of the CCP and also as a member of the Central Party Discipline Commission in 1997.

In 1998-2004, a member of the Provincial Committee of the CCP of Jilin Province. In 1998, he was elected vice-governor and vice-president. The governor of Jilin Province, one year later the governor. In October 2004 he resigned as governor, replaced by Wang Min. Since 2002 he has been a delegate to the People's Assembly of China, since 2005 he has been vice-chairman of the Parliamentary Legal Committee.
