Josef Brauner


Josef Brauner (born June 28, 1906, March 21, 1949) is a Nazi criminal, member of the Flossenbürg and SS-Schütze Concentration Camp.

Before the outbreak of war he was an employee of the German railway. He was a member of the Waffen-SS. From 21 February to 23 April 1945 he was a guard at Plattling - the KL Flossenbürg subterranean. Brauner murdered several prisoners (also of Polish nationality). He was also a guard during the evacuation of this sub-camp. He also shot several prisoners.

In a trial that took place between October 8-13, 1947, before the American Military Court in Dachau, Josef Brauner was sentenced to death. The sentence was made by hanging in March 1949 in the Landsberg prison. Bibliography
