Legia of the Duchy of Warsaw

Legion of the Duchy of Warsaw - Polish military formation formed on March 3, 1812, due to the renaming of the first Legion of the Vistula Legion due to its transition to the French imperial guard.

The three regiments of the Legion of the Duchy of Warsaw (1, 2 and 3) took part in the expedition to Russia, where they suffered huge losses. As the 4th Regiment arrived from Spain late, he did not take part in the expedition.

Legion remnants retreated towards Berlin in the 4th Corps of Eugene Beauharnais. Later they were incorporated into the 8th Corps of Prince Józef Poniatowski. Bibliography
