Live USB - a method for booting a computer operating system from a USB flash drive, without the need to install it on the hard drive. Examples of applications are GNU / Linux and Windows (Windows PE or Windows To Go).
Live USB is also used for operating system-independent applications, but it is actually the kernel of the system (usually Linux) with a single implementation, without the need to install more than one (eg GParted). Live USB a Live CD
The idea of Live USB was taken from the Live CD, but the use of this method of booting the operating system has some differences. Disadvantages:
