Naffziger symptom


Naffziger symptom - a neurological symptom of a group of root symptoms. It consists of a painful reaction in the lumbar region and in the affected lower limb after pressure on the vein in the patient lying on his back. It is not recommended to perform this test because of the risk of venous reflex or mobilization of carotid artery plaque in patients with atherosclerosis. Described by American neurosurgeon Howard Christian Naffziger. Bibliography
