USS Narkeeta (YT-133)

USS Narkeeta (YT-133) American tug of the Second World War. He was the second unit bearing that name. The ship's keel was laid on September 29, 1938 at the Mare Island Naval Shipyard in California. He was commissioned on 4 May 1939 and entered service on 16 June 1939.

For the next seven years, "Narkeeta" served as a tugboat and firefighting vessel in the 11th Naval District. Reclassified as YTM-133 on May 15, 1944. Declared unmanned as the US Navy after the end of World War II, it was deleted from the fleet list on November 21, 1946. June 2, 1947 was transferred to the Maritime Commission for distribution. > Bibliography
