George Otello
Jerzy Zygmunt Otello (born 23 August 1925 in Toruń, died 16 October 1996) - Polish Lutheran priest, longtime administrator and parish priest in Nidzica (1954-1992), administrator of other Mazurian parishes, well known bibliophile, publicist, a fan of Mazurian history. Curriculum vitae Bernard's son, a Mazurian activist from Elk, an official, an active member of the Polish evangelical parish in Toruń. He started studying law at the Nicolaus Copernicus University, but eventually chose to study at the Faculty of Evangelical Theology at the University of Warsaw. Appointed to the clergymen on March 16, 1952 in Lodz, before that he was briefly ordained vicar in Bydgoszcz and in Szczecin. In the years 1952-1954 he was administering a parish in Biskupiec. On his initiative were built branch chapels of the Nidzica parish in the Horn and in Jablonec. Since 1985 he was a consortium (senior deputy) of the Mazurian Diocese. He was President of the Nidzica Association and a member of the Board of Education, Culture and Sport of the Nidzica City Council.
Married with Pelagia from d. Klauser. They had a daughter and son, Ryszard Otello, also a priest, a vicar in Działdowo (1951-1978). He was buried in Nidzica. Bibliography
