Metoda Pressio

Pressio method - correction method of scoliosis, developed by Andrzej Zelszczuk, Janusz Łęczyński, Wojciech Nowak and Rudolf Ociepka consisting in performing exercises on a special instrument - autocorrector.

The starting point in this method is the Roaf theory, which states that the decisive factor in the progression of scoliosis is rotation. The autocorrelator interacts simultaneously on three levels of the body and corrects the primary and secondary curvatures simultaneously. The autocancer is stabilized with shoulder and hip blockers and performs an exercise called "cat's back". During this exercise, he pushes the ribs and the muscular shaft onto the pelvis at the height of the curves, which are designed to cause simultaneous derotation, correction and spine redirection. Exercises combine with the breath by applying a 1-2 second exhalation phase during pelvic pressure. The instrument is practiced several times a day for 20-30 repetitions. This method is especially indicated for the correction of thoracic and lumbar scoliosis and is also used in the preparation of surgery when it is intended to relax the spine. Nowadays, the "Dolphin" device developed by Tomasz Szurmika, Józef Sitarza and Marek Segieta is used to treat scoliosis - this is an example of excellent Polish thought in the field of medical technology. This device uses the Pressio therapy principle, but it is much safer and more effective than the previously used devices. This method is comparable in terms of efficiency with methods such as the FED, also based on the Roaf principle. Bibliography
